No, reservation is not mandatory but strongly recommended.
Tickets and/or seat reservations can be purchased directly online. Under this link (https://journey.mob.ch/en/routing/), you can select the departure station (e.g. Montreux), the destination station (e.g. Gstaad), and a date and time of travel. When you click on "Find connection", the timetable search is started and a selection of routes is suggested. We recommend that you select the "GoldenPass Panoramic", "GoldenPass Belle-Epoque" and "GoldenPass Express" products.
To reserve a seat only, you can select the "Reservation only" option under "Discount". No transport ticket will be issued.
The VIP area is not available on all trains. Please visit our webshop for available dates and times.
Currently only the GoldenPass Panoramic and GoldenPass Belle-Epoque trains between Montreux and Zweisimmen as well as the GoldenPass Express trains between Montreux and Interlaken Ost (from the end of 2022) can be booked online.
The Luzern-Interlaken Express trains between Interlaken Ost and Lucerne can be booked directly via the Zentralbahn.
Yes, the day passes issued by the communes are valid on all our lines. They can be requested from your commune of domicile.
Children from the age of 6 pay the half-fare fare. Children under 6 years travel free of charge.
However, a seat reservation fee is charged if the child has their own seat.
Yes, these cards for children aged 6 to 16 are valid on all our lines.
Except for our combined offers (train + meal), we do not offer reduced fares for seniors or students.
Yes, the Half-Fare Card and GA travelcard are valid on all our lines.
Yes, the Swiss Travel Pass allows you to travel for free on all our lines, except between Haut-de-Caux and Rochers-de-Naye and on the Les Avants - Sonloup funicular, where it gives a 50% discount.
No, there are no surcharges on our trains. However for the Swiss Travel Pass and on the route Haut-de-Caux and Rochers-de-Naye and the funicular Les Avants - Sonloup, it is necessary to buy a half-fare ticket.
Yes, you can buy your tickets at the ticket offices of all Swiss railway stations, as well as at the ticket machines available at the stations. To prevent waiting times at stations, we recommend that you buy your ticket online in advance.
Yes, if the reservation is made at least 2 hours before the departure of the train.
All our trains are selfchecking. On these routes, all passengers must have a valid ticket before boarding the vehicle. No tickets are sold on board.
Exception: The GoldenPass Express is an accompanied train. Passengers without a valid ticket may purchase a ticket at the regular price from the control staff before the departure of the train. A extra fee of CHF 10.00 will be charged according to the T600 tariff. The fee is not charged for upgrades.
The ticket itself without seat reservation does not guarantee a seat on board. It is necessary to make a specific seat reservation when purchasing the transport ticket.
Advance seat reservations are only available on the GoldenPass Line between Montreux - Gstaad - Zweisimmen*. *Then to Interlaken Ost from 11 December 2022.
GoldenPass Panoramic and Belle-Epoque: The reservation costs CHF 9.00 per journey and per person regardless of the length of the journey, the class and the price category of the passenger.
GoldenPass Express: The reservation costs CHF 20.00 per journey and per person, regardless of the length of the journey, the class and the price category of the passenger.
Small dogs with a wither height of 30 cm or less can travel free of charge in appropriate luggage (e.g. a basket or bag).
Dogs with a height of more than 30 cm or travelling without appropriate luggage must be placed underneath your seat, so as not to block the way for other passengers. You must buy a 2nd class half-fare ticket for the dog.
Good to know: The dog day pass allows your dog to travel for a whole day for CHF 25.00.
Bicycles are accepted on all our trains and funiculars. A half-fare ticket is required for the bike. For longer journeys, the bike day pass is recommended for a price of CHF 14.00.
